Moon Vine Flower
If I had to pick a favorite vine, I guess it would have to be the Moon Vine. The moon vine is in the same family as the morning glory, only the moon vine blooms in the early evening. The vine had large heart shaped leaves, and the bloom in every bit of 7 inches in diameter. You can actually watch it open up just about dusk. The real treat is not only the beauty to the eye, but the wonderful fragrance. The blooms also attract night insects, especially the sphinx moth, sometimes called hawk moth or hummingbird moth. They hover around the flowers and suck the nector from the flower just as hummingbirds do, they are quite a sight to see.
